Day 13

Oct 1st

The hard plumbing work starts...large hole in the kids bathroom - what your step!

Wall to the master bath has been framed.

My what a difference a day makes! One day you're looking at a toilet hole on a back porch, the next the interior wall is down, the old sliding glass windows are out and the new external wall is up and framed! You're now looking at the two windows in the master bathroom, above our corner tub area. The toilet will be to the right, separated by a short pony-wall. BTW - notice the drain at the bottom of the picture - you're standing in our shower area.

The two window frames at the center of the picture will be by our reading area, with the bed located to the right. On the left is our sliding glass door frame.

This is the view from just inside the doorway to the master bedroom - closet on the right, bathroom on the left.

Remember my note about the thin wall to the right of the door? Well, our original plans were to put cabinets/bookshelves in the hallway on either side of the door to the kids bathroom. That look just always bothered me, and once it was framed, I realized we would have to really small cab/bookshelves in an awkward place. SOOOoooo, how about if we punch out the other side of the cabinet area into the new office and put some nice cabinets there! Eureka! We did a similar thing for the other side of the bathroom door closer to the 1/2 bath. I am VERY happy with this new solution!!!

Looking through our master bedroom doorway into the room.

Finally - a quick view of the outside. You can see the initial framing of the roof. FYI - this will be a completely framed and covered roof in two days!
