Day 3

Sept 17th

On the 3rd day we're still working on the foundation - but we're starting to see some traction in the foundation depth. The root has also been fully exposed (or at least as far as they are going to take it).

Stucco on the side of the wall as been completely removed.

Here's a shot of some custom cabinets and book shelves we had installed a few months after we bought the house in 1998. This hallway (which has some history) connects the main house with the bonus room. When the house was first built in 1961, this area of the house was actually the 2nd bathroom. Then when the bonus room extension was build in 1971, this area was used for a washer and dryer. When we moved in, they still had the connections for a washer and electric dryer, but we thought it was pretty weird to have a washer & dryer right in the main hallway (just outside the master bedroom), so we had the water and electricity disconnected and had these cabinets installed. We also wanted a gas dryer, so we moved the W&D area to the garage.

As you saw in the plans video - we're going to blow a hole through these cabinets and put in a door to the newly constructed bathroom for the kids.
